Snapping turtle

On the way to my dad's house yesterday, I came upon this snapping turtle in the middle of the road. I stopped to move the thing out of the way. If you have ever come across a snapping turtle, then you know that this is no easy task. A truck passed me and then stopped and two men got out to help me. The trick with moving the mean thing is to get it to bite down on something and then pick it up, which is a lot easier said than done. By the time they got it moved just a couple of feet, there were like 4 or 5 cars lined up waiting to get by. Luckily, nobody seemed pissed, and one car that had kids in it stopped so they could see the turtle as they passed. I didn't see turtle bits in the road as I passed the spot today, so I guess that the turtle stayed out of the road for now.
