Here is little Bradley at 24 weeks. This is a great picture, I think. Ijust wish I had video of when this was taken. Little Bradley was yawning and stretching and I could see his little tongue. That's the first moment that his presence brought tears to my eyes.

Here I am 6 months pregnant and I still don't really feel pregnant. I feel some movement of what I can only guess is the little guy inside me, but it is fleeting and doesn't happen very often so it is difficult for me to really get a handle on it. It's funny because he probably weighs about one and a half pounds and is about eight and a half inches long and I know he is moving around in there as evidenced by the ultrasound. You'd think I would be able to feel every movement of something that big inside of me.

I need to exercise, but I haven't done so in a long while. I am worn out from work and from our new little dog. Plus we have gone to see our family two weekends within the past month. I know exercising would make me feel more energized and I know that it would be in the best interest of both me and the baby, but it is so freaking difficult to do. I have been playing outside with the dogs because the little dog must go out on a regular basis, but I know that is not enough.

Only 16 weeks to go. That's pretty freaky.

So my first doctor's appointment FINALLY arrived. Unfortunately it turned out to be more of a family history and information gathering from the nurse. No vitals, no palpations of the uterus, and no doppler. I was so disappointed. I wanted to know if this baby was ok. I didn't feel pregnant, I wasn't nauseated and I hadn't vomitted at all, I wasn't that tired anymore, and my breasts didn't even hurt that bad. There was no spotting or pain or anything like that so I had no reason to worry, but this is my first pregnancy and I at least wanted to hear the baby's heartbeat.

So, I left the ob clinic and went straight back to work, unlike I had planned. You see I work at a school that teaches medical sonography. In fact the program director is in my very office and we are friends. She had offered to do an ultrasound when I first told her I was pregnant, but I wanted to wait to go to the doctor. Well, after I went and I didn't get to hear the baby's heartbeat I decided that I wanted her to do one.

So I got back to the office and I said that I didn't even see the doctor and she said "start drinking water". Since I was so early on, in order to see the baby with a regular ultrasound machine (not vaginal) then you have to have a pretty full bladder.

I filled up my bladder and she did the ultrasound and there was the baby, flipping around and moving all different directions. This picture was actually taken a couple of weeks after the first ultrasound, but I didn't have my camera then.

So, I was relieved to say the least. I just wish I could feel that movement all of the time.
